Sydney Youth Orchestras

Case Study

Sydney Youth Orchestras is the leading orchestral training and education provider in New South Wales. Through Learning For Good, they facilitate online lessons, organize events and provide resources for schools.

The SYO use our custom Learning Management System to run and administer to their organization.

This platform allows the SYO to deliver their programs to over 1000 young musicians each year, facilitating 400 lessons per week, and managing teacher registration, communicating with teachers, parents and students securely and running their extremely busy event calendar.

Their online resources available to schools include:
Discover the Orchestra; a teaching resource which breaks down and introduces all of the instruments and sections in an orchestra.

SYO Beginners; resources for the first year of learning of 15 orchestral instruments which include teaching frameworks and 480 videos. For instrumental learning, the SYO beginners program provides students and teachers with a clear set of musical goals, set to an objective of assessment standards.

Learning for good enables us to manage our organization easily, so our primary focus can be supporting the music education and elevation of our youth.
